Depression Playlist

As many of you know I am Bipolar II.

As of late I have been battling a bout of depression.

That combined with my new job working for Native Floral is why I haven't posted anything new for a while.

But fear not! I'm posting something now!

Because of the depression, I haven't really felt like drawing at all lately. I did draw an illustration for the cover for my kung fu notebook.

I'll post it on here if you guys want to see it.

When most people are feeling down, they sometimes like to listen to sad music. It's like the sound track to their sappy little lives, and it makes them feel better.

When you have depression they tell you not to do that because it can actually make you feel worse.

Especially when some scum-bag blogger describes it as 'the sound track to your sappy little life'

Oh well.

I don't listen to this sound advice though.

Why?

Because I do whatever the heck I want that's why.

Anyways, I thought you guys might like to hear the sound track to my depression, and the reasons why I picked each track.

  1. 'Hurt' by Johnny Cash. Why? Read the title of the song again.
  2. 'Heartbreaker' by P!nk. Why? The chorus is "I won't be leaving here alive"
  3. 'Delia's gone' by Johnny Cash. Why? This song's about killing people.
  4. 'Tourniquet' By Evanescence. Why? Two reasons: A) This song is about suicide. B) It's an Evanescence song. ALL of their songs are sad.
  5. 'Marry the night' by Lady gaga. Why? This song is kind of dark. Also I just like it.
  6. 'Highwayman' by The Highwaymen Why? This song is about dying. It's also about reincarnation, but I ignore that part.
  7. 'My immortal' by Evanescence. Why? Remember reason B from two songs ago?
Ok, so it's not very long.
I mostly just replay the same song over and over.

I'll have a comic for you soon. I've been super busy at work due to the holidays.

Drink of the month!

This month's drink is one of my very favorites.

An ice-cold beer.

Best part? You can have it in only two steps!!

Step one: Buy a beer you like, and put your beer in a fridge/cooler.

Step two: Enjoy your beer.

Easy right?
Sorry guys, I've been super busy this month and haven't had time to make up a new drink.
But beer is a classic. It's the oldest alcoholic beverage.

Another interesting fact?
In the middle ages in Europe people drank beer instead of water because the water was so filthy. The alcohol in the beer killed the bacteria in the water that would make people sick.

Here's another;
During the rise of Christianity the best place to get your beer was from monks! This is because monasteries were some of the first places where beer was brewed as a trade.

Last one I promise!
It tastes awesome! Ok, not all beer tastes good (I've had some pretty nasty beer), but nothing beats a tall  glass of Blue Moon!

I have to get back to my crafts now. I've been super swamped getting ready for this craft show I'm going to be in this Saturday at my church.

Hopefully I'll get some business  cards made before then!

Lions

I love lions!
They are some of my favorite animals in the entire world!
If you follow my Twitter, then you know that I've been jonesing to draw some lions.
If you don't follow my twitter, well I've been jonesing to draw some lions.

You may or may not know this about me, but I volunteer at the zoo here in Phoenix.

BEST. JOB. EVER.

I also try to donate to conservation efforts whenever I can, especially those involving big cats.
Lucky them I guess. They get my meager unemployed artists money. In other words, I can't give much.
But I try just the same, as it would be a tragedy to lose them.

On a happier note, here's this months comic:

If your interested in learning more about big cats, or want to help save them, here are some links:

Cause an Uproar- Great way to help

Little Kitties for Big Cats-Super cute charity

Phoenix Zoo-The zoo's website.

Those are just three of my favorites. Go check them out!

You Have the Right to...

Happy Labor Day everyone!

Listen, I know that I lied about last month, and I'm very sorry.
Here's what happened; I was reading the U.S. Constitution when I came across this:

"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

I didn't know that! How great is it that the United States has the right to bear arms!!!

So naturally, I went out and got some arms...

It took forever for the doctors to fix me! Then of course I had to re-learn how to draw, and have physical therapy for my new human arms...

Ok so that's not what I've been up to.

I got some new Prismacolor  markers for my birthday from Boyfriend. I really like them, and I think I will start coloring the comics with them instead of coloring on the computer.

Also, I had to deal with some bad things that had happened to me last spring, so I haven't felt very funny.

I will however try to make it up to you!
Coloring the comics with those markers is much faster than coloring on the computer, so I should be able to make a new comic more often than just once a month.

Hopefully I won't get lazy.

My New Favorite Drink!

Ok guys, I know I haven't been posting drink recipes lately, but I have one for you now!
This one is delicious and super simple to make!

All you have to do is acquire grape Crush (or any grape soda will do) and vodka.

As you may or may not know, I love vodka, and I love grape soda even more than that!
So this drink is right up my alley.

All you need to do to make it is pour yourself a cup of grape soda (I use the whole can) and then add a shot of vodka.

You can add as much, or as little vodka as you want. The ratio of pop to vodka depends on how drunk you want to get vs. how much you care about taste.
I like to add about one and a half shots.

If you don't drink, then don't add any!

I know, this drink really isn't up to par with others I've posted, but it is good.

And I'm planning on making a yummy rum punch next month in honor of my birthday! Also, I'm done with my summer chemistry class, so I have plenty of free time to write this month's comic!

I'll get on that soon.

Talk Nerdy to Me

Hello again everybody!

Sorry about the late post, you wouldn't believe how busy I've been! I've been taking a summer chemistry class, and this is finals week! Not to mention I've been volunteering at the zoo, trying to finish several crochet pieces so I can launch my Etsy shop, and launching a new blog Playing Hooky, which is dedicated to my crochet.
Go check it out!

Anyways, I've had a lot on my plate lately.

Not to worry though, I'm already planning a drink for next month (remember the drink posts, they're back!) and a new comic as well!

Not only is there no drink this month, but there is no comic either. :(

Sorry guys!

But I do have some good news. What is it you might ask? Well it's very simple...

I drew illustrations of my Dungeons and Dragons characters!

Excuse me while I adjust my glasses, and tuck my pants into my socks.

Done!

Now, on with the post!

This is my first character, Kitty-kitty! Like Madonna, she has no last name. Kitty was actually based on a character I had created for a comic that I never ended up making. I still might draw that comic, and if I ever get around to it, than I'll post it on here for you guys!

Right now Kitty is level 2.She is a Razorclaw Shifter, and a Ranger. She has a shield guardian which she controls with an amulet she wears around her neck. She is feisty and free-spirited, and she won't back down from a fight. Her alignment is Good.
She is 25 years old.
Here she is:

Just a note: these all look better in person. My stupid scanner kind of bleaches out the colored pencil.

This next character is Māo Héshàng. He is also a Razorclaw Shifter. He is a monk.
I love Kung Fu so much, I just had to make a monk!

Māo is level 1, because I haven't had the chance to play as him yet. He is an all around sweet-heart, he doesn't fight unless he has to. His alignment is good.

So here he is:

Another note: Did I mention how crappy my scanner is? Good! Because it is! It kept cutting off parts of Māo's picture! This was the one that turned out the best, and look! It cut off half of my signature!

I will be replacing this picture as soon as I get a decent print.

And Finally I have this picture:

The Drow on the far right is Dorchadas. He is my boyfriend's character.
He is an assassin.

In this picture Māo is concerned that Kitty-kitty and Dorchadas were arguing, and now Kitty is punching Dorchadas.

I hope you all enjoyed your journey into my nerdy side.

Oh, and I'll make more posts next month!

Gas Station

This post was based on a true story.

Once apon a time I went to see some of my friends perform in a show.

It. Was. Awesome.

After the show, as I drove away my car started beeping at me. In my usual fashion I attempted to solve the problem by yelling at it. I yelled "WHAT DO YOU WANT CAR?!? SHUT UP!!" When this didn't solve the problem, I used my brain to figure out what was wrong with my car.

It turns out that my 'Low Fuel' light was on.

So I drove to the nearest gas station, pulled up to a pump, and went inside to pay.

Here is what happened next:

This continued on for several minutes until I finally got fed up with this guy.
This clerk just wasn't listening to me!

So then I'm like:

Yeah.... Oops...

I think he thought I was crazy... or on drugs... or just to dumb to realize that 20 gallons would never fit in my Chevy Cobalt LS coupe which has a 12 gallon tank, and that I came in and handed him a twenty dollar bill...

The End!

Snack Attack!

Ok guys, I'm kind of broke, so I couldn't buy the ingredients required for this month’s drink. :(

But don't despair! I have a yummy snack for you to share with your friends! And it’s HUGE! Like, so big that you’ll probably need a couple friend to help you eat it!

I call it: The Tri-Wiener Sausage-fest! aka The Breakfast Dick-Banger (it’s better  if you don’t ask).
I assume your thinking it’s name sounds like something a porn would probably be called (I wouldn’t know though, I don’t watch porn). But it’s really tasty!

It doesn't taste like porn at all!(which I imagine tastes very tough, and chewy, and not very tasty)

If you think you can handle all the greasy, meaty goodness; Here’s how to make it:

INGREDIENTS:
1 hotdog bun
3 hotdogs
2 eggs
As much sausage as you like!
As much cheese as you like!
STEP ONE:
Cook three hotdogs! However you like to cook them, boil them, microwave them, however! It’s your choice. While the hotdogs are cooking, you should start cooking the eggs and sausage.
STEP TWO:
Place the three hotdogs in the one bun, and top with the eggs, sausage, and cheese! Plus any sauce you think might be good!

I don’t have a picture of it yet, but I’ll post one as soon as I do!
I'm also working on that crochet peice so I'll post pics of that as well.
And I'm also also working on a comic for this month, and I should be posting that next weekend so check back for that!

Unleash the Cuteness!!!

This is a picture of my little rescue kitty Sasha. I found it while going through my email!

Apparently I emailed this to myself from my phone and then it got buried under a bunch of spam, and I forgot about it.
Imagine my surprise when I finally was going through my inbox and I found this little cutie!
I don’t have a drink for you this month, but I have something that’s both yummy and hilarious all at the same time!
And just for the record, I was planning a drink for this month, but I need some supplies. The problem is that I’m unemployed and broke, so what money I do have this month will be spent on gas.
Sorry guys. L
Not to worry though! I’ll bring back that drink next month!
Love ya! <3
Oh! And by the way, look  what Word can do : JLJLJ!!!! CUTE!

TWITTER PRIZE!!!

As I promised on my twitter, I made myself a prize upon reaching 100 tweets.

Here it is in all its adorable glory:

From left to right: Alice, Ashley, Andy, Me, Matt, Juli, and Brit!

I don't know how all the 'A' names ended up on one side but they did.

This picture is of my six best friends and I at an ice cream social. Do you remember ice cream socials? When I was in elementary school and we got on the honor role, we got to go to an ice cream social.

It was awesome.

I wanted to relive that through this picture.

Just think, if I put this much work into a prize for myself to celebrate accomplishing nothing, imagine  the work I would put into a celebration for actually accomplishing something!

No comic this month, I've been kind of busy. I'll have one for you next month though!

The Circus Peanut Martini

I love circus peanuts! They are delicious... in my opinion at least...
So, for march I've made my first attempt at inventing the circus peanut martini!

Here is the recipie so you can try it too!

First you need to make some circus peanut vodka. This is easy.
All you do is measure out 8oz of vodka (this makes 4 drinks), and add your circus peanuts.
You need to chop the circus peanuts to bits so they disolve faster. I used 8 circus peanuts, this was not enough so try doubling that.  and stir until they have disolved (or almost totally disolved like I did.).

Just a note: this takes a while.

After you have made your circus peanut vodka, pour 2oz into your martini shaker, followed by 1oz cream liquer, and a bit of orange juice.

Pour it into a glass and you're done!

Here is a bad picture of it that I took with my phone:

Pretty cute right?

Remember to allways drink responsibly, and enjoy <3.

Sex appeal!

This is something I don't have. I wish I did, but I'm a total and complete dork. I'm naturally flirty, but when I actually try to flirt because I find a guy I like I fail miserably.

I'm not exactly sure what makes a person sexy, but I'm pretty sure hoodies and tube socks are not it. And since they're not, whatever it is, I'm pretty sure I don't have it.
I've drawn a comic to illustrate this.

Here's the situation:

I ordered something online (probably something lame like toys or a t-shirt) and the mailman is HOT!

Here is how a sexy woman would handle seducing him:

Or at least that is how I assume it would go. As previously stated I am not sexy and wouldn't know. This is more of a guess on how it would go based on movies, and things I've heard about porn.

Anyway, she gets the guy through her bold use of boobies and see-through clothing.  You go girl!

Here is how I would handle this:

Yeah... didn't work out as well.

I'm not even saying this because I have low self esteem! I have proof!

Case 1: Nearly all of the men I've dated have been creeps or jerks. The only good relationship I've ever been in is the one I'm in now!

Case 2: I only seem to attract creeps and jerks. I'm being dead serious on this one. I get hit on all the time by old smelly drunks. I've even had a couple stalkers. None of those people were ones I was attracted to.
In fact, I've never been hit on by I guy I've been attracted to.

Case 3: The men I'm attracted to never like me back! I love sweet guys who are fun to be around. A stark contrast to the men I mentioned in case 2.

Lucky for me I have an amazing boyfriend, because left to my own devices I would probably end up picking a the least losery loser I'm so prone to attract.

Oh! Just a disclaimer to my friends who I've made things for:

I'm not trying to seduce you! Unless I show up to your house in briefs and tube socks, I'm just trying to be friendly.

After all, I'm a die-hard crafter!

UPDATE:

My boyfriend theorizes that my lack of sex appeal to the type of sweet little guys I like may be due in part to the fact that I'm funny.

I thought a sense of humor was important!

Apparently the guy likes to be the funny one, and does not appreciate the girl stealing their spotlight.
The fact that I do lumps me in as 'one of the guys'.

Could this really be true?
I was a very insecure child, and did not think highly of myself so I learned to be funny... And now you're telling me my strength is a weakness?

This sucks!

Do any of you have any theories of merit? Any opinions on the subject of what makes a person sexy?

Let me know in the comments!

Is That a Header on Your Blog...

... Or are you just happy to see me?

Check out my awesome new header. I made it myself!
However it should go without saying that I made it myself. After all. this is a blog about MY stupid cartoons.

Speaking of my stupid cartoons, I've been sick today! That means I've had lots of time to draw! I guess that's the positive side of severe stomach cramps and throwing up all day.

...Not to worry though, the comic I've been working on is not about throwing up. It's about sex appeal!
That's like the opposite of throwing up!

Actually, the opposite of throwing up is eating. But I'm speaking in terms of how fun it would be to have sex appeal as opposed to how awful it feels to throw up.

Makes sense right? Opposite ends of the spectrum. Yep.

A New Drink for Febuary!

I felt like I should update, but I honestly haven't prepared anything.

I am working on a comic though. It should be pretty sweet, but it won't be done until after Valentines day.
I'm super busy making sweets for all my friends! I hope they like them!

Today's drink is more of a suggestion than an actual recipe.

A Valentines Punch (I feel bad for the poor slob who gets served some of this stuff)

STEP 1:

Get a sparkling wine (any will do. You can also substitute ginger ale or sprite).

Jeez I'm using a lot of parenthesis in this post.

STEP 2:

Get some grapefruit, pineapple, or any other light colored juice you can think of....You know what? this might not work. I was attempting to make something pink... But I think this will end up orange.

STEP 2:

Get some pink lemonade, the white citrus Mountain Dew,  and some maraschino (thanks for the spelling help google!) cherries

STEP 3:

Mix that crap together to taste, and garnish with the cherry.

Let me know if it's any good. I just made that whole thing up off the top of my head.

A New Drink for January!

In celebration of a wonderful Thursday I made myself a yummy cocktail.
You can make it too! It's really simple... So simple in fact, that if you can't make it, you're probably currently in a coma. If you are in a coma, then my thoughts are with you, and I hope you make a speedy recovery.

Here's how you make it in four easy steps:

STEP 1:
Go to the store and buy a case of 187mL. bottles (they come in packs of four) of Shutter Home chardonnay, and a case of 6-oz cans of Dole pineapple juice.

STEP 2:
Pay for your stuff and go home.

STEP 3:
Get a large glass from your cupboard.

STEP 4:
Pour one of your 187 mL. bottles of chardonnay and one of your 6-oz cans of pineapple juice into your big glass.

I know, I know, that last step's a doozey (I assume that's how you spell 'doozey') but, if you have mastered your basic motor skills I'm pretty sure you can handle it.

Hope you enjoy it!

I'm not dead!

Sorry guys, I've just been lazy.... But I'm back now and I have a cartoon. The first cartoon I ever made specifically for this blog.
School is about to start again, and I have calculus (yuck) next semester.
I think this summarizes my feelings on that subject completely:
